The youth ministry of Calvary Chapel Oxford desires
what David spoke of in Psalm 144: 12:
"That our sons may be as
plants grown up in their youth;
That our daughters may be as pillars,
Sculptured in palace style."

Such spiritual maturity in youth is something to be greatly
desired in any congregation, for it is with the youth
that the future of the Church lies. The 19th-century theologian
Charles Spurgeon understood this and asked, "If they
do not grow in their youth, when will they grow?"
This incisive observation reminds us that it is exceedingly
important to train up the youth in the ways of the Lord
so that when they are older they will not depart from
it (Proverbs 22: 6).
As such, our desire is to see these youth grow in their
knowledge of God and their service to Him. We aim to accomplish
this through expositional teaching of God's word, close
discipleship of each student and various events of fellowship,
encouraging the youth of our church to walk in a manner
worthy of being called the children of the Most High God
(2 Thessalonians 1: 11-12).
We understand that we cannot accomplish this by our own
strength, but only by the Spirit of God working through
us and in the hearts of the students. Moreover, we desire
to work closely in partnership with parents as they raise
their children in the praise and admonition of the Lord
(Ephesians 6: 4).
To God be the glory as we seek to honour Him and may the
youth of our church grow as plants rooted in Christ and
flourishing in holiness!

Every Sunday morning, we offer separate Youth Groups
for those in year 6 and above during the service with
verse-by-verse expositional teaching.
Years 6-8 meet together to read through a book of the
Bible in order to equip the youth with personal Bible
study methods. Years 9 and up meet together where expositional
teaching follows the passage being shared in the main
service in order to allow families to engage with the
Word together throughout the week.
We also provide a bi-monthly Friday evening youth group
for year 6 and above with Bible teaching and fellowship
where young people can connect with believers their own
age and bring friends to hear the gospel.
Every summer and winter we attend the Truth 4 Youth Christian
Conference taking place at Heatree House Activity Centre
in the beautiful surroundings of Devon.
